Restoration: Restoration is what you need when your marble becomes worn and scratched. Restoration means wet sanding to remove surface scratches and wear patterns. We diamond wet sand the stone flooring using a floor machine. The final step in this process is polishing as described above. Removing Lippage: Lippage is the name give to the edges of tiles that are not perfectly flat. We diamond wet sand the stone flooring using a floor machine and several systems needed to flatten uneven tiles. Removing lippage reduces the sharpness of the edges and reduces tripping and safety hazards. Honing: Honing is for those who prefer a more rustic, matte finish, as opposed to the glossy, shiny look offered by polishing, and is one of the most popular finishes in the market today for both floors and countertops. Existing polished installations can be honed to a matte finish. Sealing: Marble, travertine, limestone and slate are porous stones. CastleRock offers state –of –the-art impregnating sealers with a 15-year warranty. The impregnator penetrates into the surface and forms an invisible barrier that is resistant to moisture, spills, and stains. This is not a surface coating (a topical or wax) and will not alter the appearance of the stone surface. This sealer will also aid in cleaning. It is important to understand that sealing provides limited protection to the surface (shine) and that care must be taken in both use and cleaning. Repairing: chips, cracks, splits, breaks. Many cracks can be repaired in place, but occasionally tiles need to be replaced. Filled travertine loses its fill over time as the stone contracts and expands with changes in temperature. The resulting holes are easily filled during your annual maintenance visit. No matter your dilemma, we'll fix it. |
